Born and raised in Talladega, Alabama, began performing as a singer and dancer in Equity musicals at age 12. Won a full scholarship to Vassar College, where she received a double major in Drama and French Literature, graduating Phi Beta Kappa. Lived briefly in Paris, then in New York, before coming to LA to act in films, and to write them.
