Nick Murphy was born and grew up in Merseyside, NW England. A former editor of news and current affairs for the BBC, he began directing documentaries in 1996. After a decade he moved into writing and directing dramas. Nick is fluent in Mandarin & Xhosa and is writing a book on the Mathematical Patterns in the Music of Franz Schubert.
