David V. Porter Actor Economist Financial Trader David started as a stockbroker after graduating Virginia Tech and eventually got a Ph.D. in Economics at the University of Georgia in Athens, Ga. One of his specialties was financial derivative pricing. His first job out of graduate school was with Enron. He was featured in the documentary Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room, with famous line “…go ahead and shut her down…” He lives in the North Palm Beach area and is President of an energy trading firm.
