VRT stands for Virtual Reality Therapy. The virtual reality therapy is a visual method of psychological care that recreates virtual environments where the specific fear of the patient is simulated physically and virtually taking advantage of advanced technologies. This therapy is translated in a game that reproduces the conditions of hazard which the patient suffers, simulating those fears to provoke a reaction erasing that feeling from the human memory. In few words this hypnosis therapy and is programmed in a software which is simply to use by the individual, just wearing and head mounted display unit very similar to certain virtual video games and is quite diffused all over the word. The concern on this therapy method is the collateral use that can be applied controlling the human minds and not exclusively for the patient benefit. Erasing the feelings from the brain (such as in the case of lobotomy) could become a very dangerous instrument of power control. From the meticulous research upon this subject comes the idea to shoot a short movie but in an experimental way. Involving within this project a team of six performers from the Massimo Dapporto's theatrical company while on tour we managed to shoot all the movie in two days. The screenplay was incomplete on purpose meaning that only one of the actors knew the plot to the end, while the other five characters had to improvise, realising only at the final, like the spectator, that was a representation on VRT. This is a low budget production(200,00 euros) and the all post production was done in only three days.
