Frank Schaefer officiated his gay son’s wedding in 2007, when he was pastor at a United Methodist Church in Lebanon, Pa. Six years later, he was defrocked. In January he spoke at the Foundry United Methodist Church in Dupont Circle in the District.
Three of the Rev. Frank Schaefer’s four children are gay.The love of Tim and his soon-to-be-husband “is from no other source than from God,” Schaefer said when he presided over the wedding of his son Tim in 2007.
