Sally Starr was born in Pittsburgh. She first attracted attention as a chorus girl in George White's 'Scandals'. (She announced scenes and said 'thankyou'). Gus Edwards caught her singing and dancing in a Los Angeles revue. He introduced Starr to director Sam Wood who cast her opposite Robert Montgomery in the early talkie So This Is College (1929)...
